A shocking theft has left a world champion duathlete, Zoe Tucker, feeling utterly devastated. Her prized possession, a custom-fitted racing bike worth £7,000, was stolen from her garage, along with another similar model. This bike held a special place in her heart as it was the very one she rode to victory at the world championships in July, earning her the gold medal.

Zoe, a 47-year-old mother from Sherborne, Dorset, had only recently moved into the property and had taken measures to enhance security, including installing a new garage door. However, on Friday morning, she discovered the devastating aftermath of a burglary.
"I noticed something was off when I got off my training bike. The garage window had been forced open, and there were wood shards on the floor. It was a scary and personal invasion of privacy," she shared with the BBC.
One or more intruders had seemingly entered through the small window and made off with both bikes, leaving Zoe feeling vulnerable and angry at the audacity of the theft.
Zoe's journey into duathlon began last October at an event in Thruxton, Hampshire, alongside a few friends. Little did she know that within a year, she would become a world champion, achieving first place in her category and the fastest British woman overall in all age groups.
Her success story is now marred by this theft, as she prepares for her next world championships in Abu Dhabi in November and the European championships in July.
"I'm at a loss. That bike was specifically designed for racing, with aero bars for time trials. It's the bike I won the world championships on. Without it, everything changes," she explained.
The impact of this theft goes beyond the financial loss. Zoe's training routine has been disrupted, and she now faces the daunting task of finding a suitable replacement.
"It's a complete sense of loss. I have to change my training plan overnight, and I don't know how long it will take to replace that bike. My competition training is now completely side-tracked," she added.
Zoe hopes that by sharing her story, she can raise awareness and prevent similar incidents from happening to others. Dorset Police is investigating the matter, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
