The Essence Ceramica Dark Matter is the latest addition to the Formex Essence line, which has been captivating watch enthusiasts since its launch in 2018. This collection is all about modern, sporty chronometers with a unique twist - Formex's patented Case Suspension System and COSC-certified movements. Over the years, the collection has evolved, offering steel and titanium editions, meteorite models, and now, the full-ceramic masterpiece.
And this is the part most people miss... the Dark Matter is a true testament to Formex's innovation. With a 41mm x 11.2mm zirconium oxide ceramic case, it's a technical marvel. The brand's signature suspension system is housed within, and the screw-down crown is an impressive feat, given the hardness of the ceramic material. The vertical brushing and diamond polishing on the surfaces add to its allure, creating crisp transitions and captivating light reflections. Weighing just 56 grams, it offers exceptional comfort and scratch resistance.
But the real showstopper is the dial. Cut from a solid piece of Muonionalusta meteorite, it's a cosmic masterpiece. Through a proprietary dark-nickel electroplating process, the Widmanstätten pattern is enhanced, revealing an intricate crystalline structure formed over millions of years in space. Unlike typical meteorite dials, this one is fully structural, with soldered feet and a precise date window at 6 o'clock. Powering this extraordinary timepiece is the Soprod Newton P092, a COSC-certified automatic calibre developed exclusively for Formex. The movement is visible through the sapphire back, showcasing modern black-gold finishing and a skeletonized rotor with the Formex emblem.
